No really, it’s a great way to actually be able to communicate with your favourite artist or watchers. My watchers are even so kind to remind me to SAVE every now and then when I’m working.
Also, seeing the whole drawing process in real-time speed is always inspiring.

First off, I’m not working in the dA staff myself. I’m actually just another random stranger on the internet, but I feel that I need to lighten my heart a little bit.

Many times, if not EVERY time, the dA staff release a new widget - no matter whatever it actually is, I always see people respond…

a confession/rant I submitted yesterday about how annoying I find people who wont stop complaining about dA’s admin/staff.

It isn’t that your style is holding you back, it’s that you’re too lazy to go back to learn the basics.

“Cubism has ruined my art.”

this is one of the best confessions so far. (ok I say that everytime more or less but whatever)

I like the confession-blog “Artist-Confessions”. Mostly because so many people are making such a big fuzz about art.

And 60-70% of the confessions is more or less related to deviantArt or online art communities overall. The other 40-30% is about their hate or love for Anime and fandoms.

This is a little summary of what more or less people on that blog likes to rant about.

None of these quotes are copied from certain confessions. But sums up most of what you’ll see there. Please do not take this post as something serious. (but if you wanna create drama. Then go ahead.)

“…he/she doesn’t deserve all the attention.”

“They are just doing fanart to get attention.”

“I haven’t improved at all. I should quit art.”

“I’ve lost inspiration, I should quit art.”

“Hi this is my deep-shit story about my long life as an artist…. bla bla… bla bla…I am now 16-17 years old and now understand what art is.”

“I hate seing younger people being better at drawing than me. Because age always matter in art.”

“I’m 13-15 and I haven’t improved at all, I will never become a good artist.”

“Anime is art.”

“Anime is not art.”

“If you don’t know art history, then you are not an artist.”

“This person is so good at coloring, composition, anatomy, but it’s so sad that ze draw cartoon/manga-style! Ze doesn’t deserve all the cred.”

“This person’s opinions differ from mine and therefore I dislike his/her art no matter the quality.”

“I feel so discouraged and depressed when I look at good art.”

“All good anime artists comes from Pixiv.”

“I lose respect for people who use references/bases.”

“ze doesn’t put any effort in his/her art. Ze doesn’t deserve to be famous.”

“Anime ruined my art/style.”

“Same-face-syndrome is the worst art crime you can commit. I don’t care if you are the gods of art, if you use the same face-shape more than one time, I don’t consider you good and you should burn in hell.”

“People who doesn’t accept critic are pussies and will NEVER EVER improve. Because they MUST improve. Whenever they want it or not!!!”

“I will never consider people who draw MLP/Homestuck/any other fandom as real artists.”

“This (insert artist who obviously is the submitter of the confession) has a lot of potential and is my greatest inspiration. He/She deserve more attention.”

“I don’t understand why people dislike something I like.”

And here is a summary of all the asks the admins recieve:

“I hate the admins of this blog.”

“I think Admin A/B/C/D is a bitch/whore/immature etc”

“I love you Admin.”

“That last confession was really rude.”

“The last confession shouldn’t be considered a confession.”

Summary:

Artist-confessions is a very entertaining blog if you like drama. It’s a great place to troll or be trolled. It’s like a big dysfunctional family<3

Because it is low quality.
Not all of it of course. But look at it this way: sometimes when shopping around in a superstore you come across a dress or purse that you love. It being a superstore, it’s cheap. You buy it.
However, while you may love the item, it’s no doubt made either of cheap…

FUN FACT: I actually do make a fucking living of drawing in “Anime style”.

(btw warning: this text is probably the biggest insult to everyone who loves to draw manga/anime. But some of it is true.)

srsly.
it is so fucking obvious that he’s using photos. Are people really that blind to see that?
No really, the first time I saw his comics/works, my first thought was “huh, nice photomanip you got there.”
I mean, its so obvious that his work is photomanipulation.

I really feel that people ”young artists” need to know this once and for all.

Well boo-fucking-hoo
She is using stock photos! Scandalous!! She’s actually using resources for her art?!?!?!
But surprise surprise: MANY professional artists trace or use stock photos as help when they need to get a certain pose done in time.
Tracing is not violating copyright laws.
And sometimes, tracing is actually a way to train your hand muscles when drawing (with a pencil or tablet, NOT with a mouse). And the way this artist trace from the photo, she’s doing a really good job in adding her own touches and know how the folds on the clothes goes - just that shows that she has some skills.
Even I have traced from photos when making art. And it was all because I didn’t want to waste time finding a good pose and just get started practice on a certain area such as color and light; “Lovely Owl”, ”The Floating Tundra” and “Luminescence” have all a base that is traced from a screenshot or a stock photo. It saved me time, and they all came out great and original enough to not look like the resource.
Does that make me a bad artist? Does that make me deserve less respect than others?
If you only knew how many artists you’d lose respect to for using reference photos as base. I mean, at least be happy that they don’t use shitty anime-traced-bases done in MSPaint with a mouse.
Every artist have their own technique. Deal with it.

Sadly, this is the truth more or less. You HAVE to know people and be a bit social if you really wanna get into any kind of entertainment/cultural industry.
People won’t trust a person who can only communicate through e-mail or a chat - they wanna meet you and talk with you face-to-face.
And being able to communicate with your client is extremely important in more or less any kind of business.
I’ve heard stories of people who got rid of their social anxiety because they didn’t wanna let that ruin their dream of becoming a concept artist or a illustrator and so on.
Social Anxiety makes your whole life very hard to begin with, if you really wanna make it into the art industry - first seek professional help for your SA. That is the first and most important step.
Don’t let your problems control your life. Let your dreams and goals do it.

I agree with this.
I’m not into loli or shota - but there’s definitely a big difference between a sexual fantasy/fetisch and a sexuality/sexual attraction.
It’s like those who enjoy Rule34 on My Little Pony - I am very sure that most of the people who fap to that would never have sex with a real pony/horse in real life.
