Hey all our wonderful fans! Is the summer treating you well? We just want you to know we are both working really hard on the next chapter. But also some other stuff. Like a new header for the website, a page with information about all kinds of dinosaurs that you see in the comic, avatars and desktop backgrounds.

Oh, btw. You might notice the website looks a bit weird currently? Well, that is because I wanted to poke the code a little bit. But don’t worry! It will look great again soon.

Lately we have been getting a lot of traffic to this site. Which means that our server have been taking a bounding. So I (Tomb) have to raise the resources limit. = It costs more and more money to keep this site up without a lot of downtime.  So we have a favor to ask. I keep forgetting how many swedish words there are that has a totally different meaning in english.

Okay so I really should start working more on my comics, and spend less time livestreaming drawing pictures.

If I really wanna become a decent comic artist I should really prioritize the time needed to create them.

So today I’m going to at least start working on the thumbnail sketches for the third chapter of my webcomic Krig RAWR. But if I’m being a good girl I might treat myself by streaming a little bit later today. But just maybe.

This chapter is going to be very good I tell ya! Not gonna spoil anything but it will definitely flesh out some of the characters you’ve seen in earlier chapters.

Crosshatching a dark gradient!

Gonna do a gradient using the crosshatch technique! I start off with one “layer” of vertical strokes, as you can see they are not filling the whole area immideately, instead if work my way up with short strokes.

This is how it will look like once I’ve filled the area I’m gonna crosshatch.

Now I add another “layer” of strokes, this time they are horizontal.(I know it’s blurry but you can see it anyhow)

Aaaand now to the third “layer” which is diagonally, take notice that I cover the whole area with the layers. This is gonna be a dark gradient!

I repeat the process I described by using a bit thicker pen (0.1 mm and 0.3 mm around the darkest) and crosshatch the gradient effect. Then I fill the rest with black (betanuri) and finish it all by stretching my wrists.

reblogging an old post just to remind you guys of this comic I made a year ago. I am eager to start drawing on the next chapter, so you all better go read this as well because this is my biggest attempt on a comic this far.

Well this definitely made my day. Why didn’t I even go check this out earlier?!

I know that if me and Tomb wins, we wont recieve money or something fancy like that. But still… it’s just awesome to know that it has a chance! :D

I’ll just begin with how the overall body looks like when you roughly trace it:

Now, this drawing can be changed in two different ways, since the scene is supposed to be dynamic and that she’s “apparently” doing a quick movement, it will always be a butt-n-boob-pose.

I like this one the most, because it retain a lot of the original pose, doesn’t break hear spine AND we still get our lovely tit’s n ass. We are capable of turning our torso on some level. And this feels like the most natural one, but still keeps it dynamic.

However, if we really wanna keep the butt in the same pose, we can change the upper body instead. Although that requires some more redrawin’:

Here, her torso is turned the other way, and to keep the pose looking good. I switched the gun to the other hand. However, this pose is not as dynamic as the first one. So here comes the THIRD example:

On this one, the upper body is turned more into profile view. Although this was porrly done by me since I accidentally made the ass appear bigger than supposed. But at least now she has a working spine ;w;

And this is my first redraw btw! Was a fun way to kill time and test your anatomy-knowledge/skills.

That was a lot of fun to read too!  And I love the little things you threw in to each redraw.  WITH THE POWER OF LOVE I FIX YOUR SPINE!

Cover to We3 #3. Even this cover is enough to start me crying again ;___; Such an amazing comic.

If you haven’t read the comic “We3” you certainly should - it’s one of those touching stories that still provides good art and action.

And this cover made me cry like a baby when I was reading.

Superduktiga serietecknaren Mirjam Löfgren (Krig RAWR) har tumblr. Hon har även en fallenhet för att göra tutorials och rita dinosaurier. Passande nog så har hon nyligen gjort en awesome genomgång av Deinonychus, som jag just ska rita i en kommande Love Hurts-serie. Tack för det, Mirjam!

Jag älskar själv anatomiböcker och lär-dig-rita/måla-böcker och äger massor. Många är inte särskilt bra, men jag brukar tänka att om jag bara lär mig en ny sak av att läsa den så var det värt det.

Min Topp-3 är:

1. Drawing the head and figure
Titeln säger precis vad det är för bok. Det finns många böcker som lär dig samma sak men jag tycker den här är den absolut bästa.

2. The DC Comics Guide to Inking Comics
Att tuscha sina serier är en konst i sig och en som inte är särskilt skriven om. Det här är i alla fall den bästa boken i ämnet och kanske den bok jag läst om flest gånger.

3. DC Comics Guide to Coloring and Lettering Comics
Halva boken handlar om att texta serier och den har jag inte ens läst. Om du är intresserad av det kolla den HÄR. Men delen om att färglägga serier har för mig varit ovärderlig.

For you who doesn’t know Kim W Andersson, he is a swedish comic artist and creator of “Love Hurts” and “Alena” - wich both are two awesome comics you should get your hands on if possible!

And for you who doesn’t understand swedish “bork-bork”, Kim is linking to some books he recommend for comic artists. I think I’m gonna check out the “DC Comics Guide to Inking Comics” later, since inking is my favourite part in making comics.
