Doing some hand studies atm. Decided to try to make a little GIF of the screenshots I use to take while drawing.
also, ref source here: link!

As a compensation for all the eurovision spam, here’s a back study I did before the show started. featuring my oc Shaka-Bella of course <3
back muscles are still hard for me though :< still not sure if I like the final result more than the WIP:

also a little thanks to Caleb for providing me awesome GIFs as perfect references! uvu
doodle looodle loooooo
man it was a while since I drew a tr00 bishie!
more inkling sketches.
These ones had layers. I think that as long as you are quick with your strokes, the sketchy ones can turn out p close to the original. Cleaner lines require more adjustment in illustrator.
So while I watched the semi-final of eurovision I took the moment to doodle some of the artists with my inkling.
I’m so happy iceland’s entry made it to the final, their song is awesome and the singer looks like thor.<3
playing around with my inkling. doesn’t look THAT bad after all.
Character Progression: Shaka-Bella (from 2004 to 2013)
Shaka-Bella is an OC almost as old as Miré.
She started out as some kind of magician, with super-oiriginal cat eyes and had a lot of typical mary-sure traits. Her personality was a bit different back when I first made her as well, she was wise and powerful (aka OP-Mary-Sue x10)
for a very long time I didn’t consider Shaka to be a “human” but some sort of very human-like desert-mutant (not to be confused with X-men mutants). But as I grew older and got a better idea of how character development worked, I ended up ditching the cat eyes and the magical powers and made her in to a human. And she went from mysterious witch to a rebellious jack sparrow in attitude.
She had dreads for a very long time, but I removed them recently. It felt a bit to much and didn’t really work with her lifestyle as a roadtrip-biker chick.
The traits i’ve kept though is her hair and skin color, as well as her body type; she’s tall and slender. But her breasts are more or less smaller now than in the old versions. (I drew all boobs like in those older pictures because that’s what I thought was a typical thing you had in manga style. True story.)
Character progress of my OC Miré 2003-2013.
Since I made her when I was like 11-12 years old, you can imagine what a difference the design of her is compared to now.
And yes I literally whitewashed her in the first picture. I had just discovered photoshop and lens flare ok. Thank god I know how light works nowadays.
and if you think this is odd then just wait til I show you Shaka-Bella….
hahahahahaa
i aint giving up I WILL make sure this Inkling comes to some sort of use.
but now I need bed
You know, the lines may turn out a bit uneven when you import it, but some tweaking helps a lot. Since it’s vector lines you can adjust it however you like.
Btw that’s Mike Chilton. Thinking of Rayon-senpai. dgdhhhg
